I am back, hopefully

Haven't posted in such a long time. I also haven't practice as often as I used to, but I will try to update my blog as much as I can. You can also find me here: Astralviewers, Obe-one, Astralvoid and also Astralviewers chat.

Anyway, here are my latest experiences that I have written down.

As you maybe remember, I used to have a try outs thread. This is going to be the new version of it. I will probably make a new one every new year. I'll try, though, to bring myself to writing again more about my experiences as lately I could not be bothered writing them.

Experience #1 - Worms implanted. Matrix? September 29th

I do not remember now how I got in SP as I have not written many details about it, but I had 2 SP's. In the first SP I lost focus, but in the second one my vibrations turned into baby whispers that I could not understand. The vibrations were strong, loud, though. After a while, I felt like I was implanted something in my brain. I could feel something moving in my brain, in my head and then somewhere around my cheek. It felt like a worm, I could say. Although that was a bit weird and it kind of "nonphysically" hurt, I did not find it scary at all. In fact, never in oobes do I find anything scary, but interesting. I believe I got in this SP after I became lucid in a dream where there was one classmate in two places in the same time.

Experience #2 - Pure and subtle SP. Octomber 15th, I believe.

As usual, I am laying with my laptop in bed, talking in the astralviewers chat. I was a bit bored so I just put the laptop next to me and closed my eyes. I was thinking about recent things, nothing really important. Suddently, I found myself not moving and I just wanted to swim out of this un-movement. I imagined me swimming until I really felt like swimming. I was like out of an ocean then I fell back and went deeper. The water wasn't actually water, it was shiny "nothingness", an ocean is my best metaphor describing the place. I was seeing a few pentagrams and satanic things since I watched a docummentary about Illuminati. (boredom, don't ask me)

For some reason I felt like saying "go away, you demon". The deeper I was going in this "water", the more I tried to open my mouth. I could barely hear myself, but it felt like I was speaking physically. The more I was opening my mouth, the realer everything started to feel. Then, when I swam up, out of this "ocean" I found myself in another position, with my feet on the next wall. I was slowly rotating and feeling the wall while rotating.

I was all "OMG, not even a small detail is missing", but I should have normally hit my laptop, but I didnt feel it. Apparently, a big detail was missing, hehe. Then I said "so, this is MY world, the one I am used to, since my laptop is not there." My feet went through the wall and then I just jumped. I got through my neighbours wall, and I was hugging someone. Then, I asked for real clarity, not just shiny "nothingness".

I opened the window (even hear it opening), again small details were there, and I wanted to jump the window. Someone was looking at me like "wtf is he doing?". However, I don't remember what happened next. I just saw myself waking up, not moving. I tried to reenter but nothing happened so I just opened my eyes and wrote it.

I forgot to add that it was night and full moon after I'd gotten out of that "white void".

Experience #3 - Dual awareness. A very long time ago

I somehow got again in Sleep Paralysis and because I was having mental blocks I thought I'd try to fly as high as I could and perhaps get a better focus in the air. I remember I went though the wall behind me but then I got back in my body. However, I finally jumped, I could feel myself in the air, although I could not see anything. Then, because I could not see I decided to try opening my eyes. I forced them and I opened my right or left eye. I can't remember for sure, but it was the physical eye. The nice part here is that I could still feel myself in the air, getting higher while I was feeling myself still in bed, looking at the rest of the room. I can't explain it but by saying it was dual awareness. That's exactly what it felt like. I know it may have been an illusion, but it wasn't as I opened the other eye too and got back my physical senses and went to write the experience.

Experience #4 - Free your mind Sserg! October 29th

I was again the astralviewers chat, talking to people when Omkar randomly told me "You need to free your mind, Sserg!". I always knew that I was going through illusions in OOBEs, but this statement really helped me. Thanks Omkar for that.
I was somewhere, near where one friend lives, I have no idea why I got there, but I wanted to fly. I was lucid. I had been too skeptical and insecure in OOBEs and that's why I had so many movement problems. However, I started to fly, I went through a tree, I felt the branches and leaves while flying until at some point I became insecure again. I decided I'd raise my hand, hoping I would fly faster when I remembered what Omkar had told me. I said "No, I am not that limited, I can do it only with my mind." I just willed to fly faster and it happened. At some point I just looked down and I could see the city in a 2D view as I was soo high in the air. There even was a fog laying above the city. I guess what I wanted to do in Experience #3 has finally happened.

How I've induced and currently induce OOBEs

I have only been practicing OOBEs for 1-2 years and I've gone through many methods and try outs to figure out what methods are the most suitable to me. They've always changed, but here are a few.

Involuntary experiences for almost no reason

I used to have a lot of Sleep Paralysis experiences and I had no idea why. I also used to believe there were a few demons in my room or that someone was in my apartment willing to kill me or steal something. One of the reason I used to have these experiences is that I had just started school and I had to go to bed earlier. It did not matter how early I went I always had to have a nap in the afternoon as I was too tired. Then, after a few hours, as I had to go to bed earlier, I'd just go to sleep and wait. I felt in a way able to sleep, but not sleepy or tired at all. This is one of the best states you should be in when you want to induce an OOBE. This method may be also found as Bedeekin's method as he has introduced naps to Astralviewers, if I remember correctly. You basically need to go to bed later than usual, wake up earlier than usual so that you can get tired enough for a nap in the evening. Then, take a short nap (1-2 hours) in the evening, wake up and go back to bed in 2-4 hours and you should experience Sleep paralysis. It may not work from the very beginning, but keep trying. It happened to me without knowing what I was doing, so it must work to you too. However, if you are used to sleeping in the afternoon or you are not used to waking up WHEN you wake up, it may not work. Keep trying, though. Change sleep patterns.

I sometimes still use this method, but yeah, always napping in the afternoon can get pretty frustrating. One would rather just go outside with friends than sleeping. It's still a powerful method, though.

Voluntary SP's, but with a prior sleep

Whether it is a sleep in the evening, or you just wake up to use the toilet it is still a good opportunity to try and induce an OOBE. Try to get some 5-6 hours of sleep, stay up 30-60 minutes and then return back to bed with the intent of inducing. You may stay up shorter, but try not to fall asleep. I believe Jettins has already talked about this method in more detail. Check it out in the forum. This method is the fastest way to OOBE, in my opinion. Here are some old hours and situations when I used to induce:

1. Bedeekin method. Go to sleep later than usual, wake up 1-2 hours earlier than usual, have a 2 hours nap between 6-9 then induce after 2/4 hours. Usually at 11.
2. Wake up 2 hours earlier than usual and go to induce in 1 hour.
3. Wake up in the middle of the night, after 2/4/6 hours of sleep and try to induce.
4. Go to sleep at 1 am, wake up at 6 am and induce at 7 am. - This one worked 9 times out of 10 to me until I changed again my sleep pattern.

Before going to bed methods

Since there's no time for napping and waking up during nights is a bit annoying and stressful, I needed a new method. I had become used to inducing right before falling asleep. However, I had to be very sleepy so that I can go faster and deeper in my sleep. I used to stay still, without moving and just wait until images or sounds kicked in. Sometimes I'd just find myself talking, interpreting other dream characters. When I realized that, I'd just say my magical sentence that should increase my awareness. I used to say "This is false, this is all a dream.". I remember it has worked like 3-4 times, but I did not bother practicing this. However, lately, I've become better at this method and I can even stay still without moving until I enter SP or fall asleep. Sometimes, I need to move, but if I move I always remember that I am close to falling asleep so I just wait to use my magical sentence. It requires practice but it works, without any prior sleep.

Meditation induction

After having had Sleep paralysis and out of body experiences only after prior sleep for almost a year, I could not imagine how one could have OOBEs and real vibrations from meditation as for me, meditation was only a way to relax your mind and "turn off the useless programs running in the background". However, yes, it is possible to induce OOBEs from meditation. The best way is to learn to ignore any physical and external information, senses, everything and concentrate on a mantra or something else. Just stay aware and ignore everything else. Most importantly is to get rid of your physical senses. No mind meditation, by Campbell, phasing and noticing by Xanth are very good methods for that. I however still induce using that magical sentence I just talked about above since I induce more when going to sleep.

LD? Let's make it an oobe.

I was waking up and noticed that so I stayed still and got in an LD, I believe. Later, I found myself outside my window, floating and I was thinking that it felt dream-like, but since they're the same conscious phenomena, I thought I'd go to a place from an old dream. In that dream I had been to a place with all my family, it looked more like a buddhist place, and there were a lot of mantras playing and I was so happy and peaceful there. However, in my LD/OOBE I still haven't gone there, but I can try it next time.

Today I also had a dream in which I had to climb a tower to finally meet there with friends and wach a movie...

My method to LD

As you may have noticed, lately I have had a few lucid dreams. I wanna become a master in OOBEs and LD's which includes being able to OOBE/LD at any opportunity given. I also want to be more connected to the dream world and therefore I have an L drawn on my hand. I find this the best method you can have as if you attempt and expect to see the L in the dream, even if you don't see it, you will know that you are supposed to question reality and then you can try other reality checks.

Draw a little L or whatever on your hand, the one you use the most. Since I am left-handed I drew it on my left hand. Do keep a dream journal even if you remember only a word from your dream, you will end up writing more. It always works this way. Once you've got one, analyze your dreams. See where you should be paying more attention to. If in your dream, for example, you were surprised by something, remember that each time you get surprised by something when awake, you need to look at your L on your hand. The more dreams you remember, the more mistakes and things you can find. As an example, check out my latest post. I will post link at the end of the article in case I have written more posts so that you do not need to search for this post in all my entries.

In other words, you need something that, wherever you are, will make you question the reality. I think I look at my L more than 20 times per day, even now when I am writing this. I've only been doing this for 3 days and already gotten a few lucid dreams. It works, you just need to remember dreams and find out where you should have checked out the L. Once you know, do it in reality too. The idea is to get used to doing it.

Today, I was cooking with a few friends, I had thought about food before sleeping, and I do not know what a girl said and I said "yeah, look", showed her my hand with the L on it and said "we're dreaming now ::)" I did not become lucid beacuse I was being sarcastic, I did not think I was dreaming, LOL.

Notes:
=> Ask myself where I am each time I go somewhere. Me and my friends wanted to make fun on yahoo messenger of the person we were at. How's that work? LOL
=> Reality check when stuff move or strange things happen, although they have an explanation later. The girl's father kept moving in other places when I went through the hallway. Once he was in the left side of the room, once in the right one... with his bed.
=> NEVER BE SARCASTIC AGAIN.

Apparently, I am slowly starting to practice Lucid dreams. For me, they are as nice as OOBEs. I'd use em like a back up. ;D

Weird lucids

I went to sleep at 11:40 pm as I can remember. I once woke up at 3:40 because of the rain outside, so I closed the window and went back to bed to try an OOBE. Nothing happened, fell asleep then woke up at 7:40 am because I was hearing some noises in a pipe that's next to my bed. I said "eh, ghosts again" but then it became worse and I just woke up. I stayed up until 9 am and I went back to bed to induce an OOBE because I was pretty tired. I focused on my L on my hand, to stay aware. However, I forgot about everything and I kind of fell asleep.

Later, I became aware and did what I usually do in OOBEs. I just moved up and checked out my room. I do not remember much of what I did there, because I've forgotten it, but I know I fought with a person or more and I decided to go back to bed. I, then, woke up again and got up. However, I felt something was not right, I checked my L, it was there, but it still did not feel right. I punched my bed to see if I could feel and hear something. I kind of heard it, but did not feel it. I realized I was still dreaming.

The new dream was not very different form the other. However, I was small in it. Then I saw lady gaga and we started throwing stuff from my desk at each other until I threw my entire desk at her. After a few other fights, in which we were just flying like in a game and throwing stuff at ourselves. I realized I was losing awareness so I opened my window, it was winter outside and I just flew away. It was amazing, I could fly so naturally. I even was talking to myself like "See, you can fly! But yeah, when you are too excited or insecure you won't be able to". This was one of my problems in OOBEs, that I was too excited or insecure about flying. After a while, I got back on the ground and saw one of my old classmate's mother. We were talking about what I was doing and she told me "yeah, imagine if kids knew about this earlier..." and I was like "yeah, it would have been great!". I can't remember what else happened after our conversation. I think I just woke up.

I just remembered, as I was writing, that before the first LD started I did get out of my body and went through the wall slowly. I was like someone just threw knives or something at me and I was in slow motion avoiding them. I even said I needed to write that in my dream Journal that I started yesterday.

I've been having the Journal and the L on my hand for only two days and I've already experienced something! Also, my sleep schedule has pretty much turned back to normal. Btw, apparently I woke up at :40 all the time. Hmmm! When I woke up from my LDs, however, it was 10:30 :D

So.. how do you LD?

RETURN TIME : 8:05 AM

I cannot remember pretty much, I think I should have stayed up a little more, but I know I had an LD. I'd been saying that in my sleep a lot until I woke up again, one hour before my alarm would have gone off. I hope this will fix my sleep schedule which currently has been pretty screwed up.

However, one thing that I remember is that I was talking to someone about LD's. Probably because I entered in my dreams already lucid. One of my dream characters asked me about lucid dreams. I remember I told him "weeell.... try the four hours thingy. Look at me? I just got one cause of waking up at 8 :P"

That's all I can remember, hehe. Hopefully an OOBE tomorrow and a better sleep schedule.

Let's focus somewhere else

Today I did something I tell everyone who wants to OOBE not to do because they're wasting their time. In a way, it's true as many people want OOBEs in the day they heard about them, therefore this method is not suitable for them.

I decided to try to forget about my body and concentrate on nothing. Even the idea of nothing had to be processed and therefore there was no nothing in my meditation. I was still thinking. I find it pretty impossible not to think at all. However, I decided to practice phantom wiggling so that I would only concentrate on it. As usual, it worked the best for my hands, but slowly I got to do it with my entire body. After I moved my body too I remembered I do have an actual physical body and I ruined it all. I remained still and continued phantom wiggling with my hands. After a while, I could say I fell asleep but then I immediately woke up in the state I was actually looking for. I was "there". There was no body, no nothing. It was all blackness. I tried to move my hands again as I was slowly getting up. I was impressed I succeeded in losing any sense of my body when I remembered about it and I suddenly opened my eyes and ruined it all once again. I moved on my side and fell asleep. I said I'd tried enough for a day.

I had a lot of dreams that I could remember, in fact, it felt like I was living there. It felt like the longest dream I've ever had. My dream was mostly about recent discussions or things I did. I even had a php code in there! lol. Anyway, I will try to practice this as often as I can and feel like and hopefully become more aware and detached from the body.

Three Sleep paralysis

I went to sleep at 4 am and as I knew it I was going to sleep later than usual, I thought I would set an alarm at 9 am so that I could wake up, sleep less than I need and try an OOBE after one hour of wakefulness. It sounded like a great plan, except that I woke up naturally from my sleep at 8:52 am before my alarm would have gone off. I felt quite rested and I thought my chances of having an OOBE were ruined.

I, however, did attempt an OOBE after 1-2 hours of wakefulness and I had three weak Sleep Paralysis experiences. I tried to get up, but I was moving physically, or that's what I thought. I am never sure whether it is a physical movement or not if SP is weak. I remember I tried phantom wiggling and to rotate myself, but nothing seemed to work. I had remembered these methods from obe4u videos, but I guess I had not remembered all the separation methods I needed.

In any case, today, due to the Boredom there has been, I decided I would go to meditate. I went to my bed, I knew my mp3 player was charged and I just laid down on my back and listened to a few mantras. Suddenly, during the meditation, I started to feel sleepy and I turned over on my belly, as I usually sleep, and slept for another 2-4 hours. After I woke up, I realized that this could be a great way to trick my body and my mind while waiting to fall asleep for Forced Falling Asleep method. Tonight, I am going to lay on my back until I feel very sleepy, turn over and start saying my "magical sentence" that will bring back my awareness.

Notes:
1. Try different methods for separation.
2. Move even if I may move physically. Since I am already in the sleep state, I will still be able to return to Sleep Paralysis even if I moved physically.
3. Jump as higher as possible to see the town from a "Google Earth view".
4. Do whatever I can.

Methods

I have been thinking about such thread and I am finally going to write it. I am going to write and organize all the methods that I have tried and worked and also those that I've heard to be successful. All these methods will be separated into two categories: Pre-sleep methods and non-pre-sleep methods.

Pre-sleep Methods

These methods require a previous sleep, short or long, before the induction. It can be an afternoon nap or a long night sleep. The idea is to make sure you have had any sort of sleep before the induction. Here are some hours I have tried out and worked:

1. Bedeekin method. Go to sleep later than usual, wake up 1-2 hours earlier than usual, have a 2 hours nap between 6-9 then induce after 2/4 hours. Usually at 11.
2. Wake up 2 hours earlier than usual and go to induce in 1 hour.
3. Wake up in the middle of the night, after 2/4/6 hours of sleep and try to induce.
4. Go to sleep at 1 am, wake up at 6 am and induce at 7 am.
5. Let me now if you have had any other hours in which it worked to add them here.

Note:
Usual means when you go to sleep naturally and also wake up naturally. If you usually wake up by alarm at 7 am, it is not "usual".
Also, in all of these methods you may experience:
a) Tiredness because of waking up from the nap/pre-sleep. Not only may you experience this, but you should feel like this. If you don't, then you may not be primed.
b) The feeling of being very awake that you could never go back to sleep even if you wanted to. This may happen after the pre-sleep if you stay up 1 hour or more. When you feel like this, you should go and try to induce as it may be the perfect state.

Non Pre-sleep Methods

These methods are also separated in four categories: when going to sleep, during the sleep, upon awakening, anytime.

When going to sleep

The only method I know for this is called Forced/False Falling asleep (FFA). This may be a hard one as you need to let yourself get deeper in your sleep until you reach a point in which you know you are close to losing consciousness and "fall asleep". In that moment you should remember to bring yourself back to wakefulness. I usually say the sentence "This is a dream. It's false" when I reach that point and then I suddenly get Sleep Paralysis. You may start having hypnagogic hallucinations and you may notice you are talking to yourself and seeing images. This is the best moment you should say your "magical sentence".

During the sleep

I believe the only way you can have OOBEs during the sleep is from Lucid Dreams. If you ever get lucid in your dream keep noticing your surroundings and keep yourself active. Also, start asking yourself questions such as "Who am I?", "What am I doing here?", "What do I want to do?", "How did I get here?". The more you ask yourself questions, the more awareness you gain and therefore the closer you are to OOBEs. I, unfortunately, do not know many methods for Lucid dreams, but you can try looking at your hands and asking yourself if you are dreaming when you do something in real life you would not normally do or when you think something that is happening to you is out of place. Usually, these types of situations get in your dreams and if you are used to doing reality checks you may get lucid. Also, I used to draw an "L" on my hand to remind me that I was dreaming. I used to look at it from time to time. I have not had many lucid dreams, but my friends who found it weird certainly did.

Upon awakening

These methods are almost the same as those with a pre-sleep, except that you do not stay up and return to induction. You have to remember to remain still when you wake up and to try different separation methods. I will post a few methods for separation later in this thread.

Anytime

This is the method I find the hardest as you need to wait until your body gets relaxed, unlike the other situations when your body is already relaxed. I will not describe Phasing in here because I have never been able to give it a try and I am not entirely sure how it works, but I have heard that it is pretty successful. Separation methods

One method is to imagine that the ceiling is a magnet which attracts you. You should also let go all your fears and let yourself float. Another method would be to imagine some ropes that you are going to use to pull yourself out of your body. Usually, if you have tried a pre-sleep method and SP has occurred, you only need to move. It may feel very real and make you think you have ruined your OOBE, but there are not so many chances of you moving physically. Just try it, there are enough methods for you to get another experience anyway.
NEW!
When I was in bed last night, waiting to fall asleep I sneezed and got up like 90 degrees. I think this could be a nice method for separation. Sneeze as hard as you can.

Advice

Under no circumstances should you get excited of your experience as you may get out of your state.
Under no circumstances should you be afraid of anything as it deepens the experience. This, however could be used as a method.
Under no circumstances, should you force the nap or pre-sleep before your induction. All the naps should be taken when you are tired.

Why do PSM (pre-sleep methods) work better than NPSM?

When you try any of the PSM you and your body are in a state in which your mind, due to the REM stage and high brain activity can remain awake while your body goes back faster into its 'sleep mode' because it has recently waken up from a sleep. If someone has anything to add, just let me know. ;D

OOBES/LD's/Dreams - Same place

I have been thinking why the new age stuff still seems to be the big deal and some people do actually claim they are real. People have been saying and believing in the astral, in the astral body, in lower or higher astral planes and so on. Who first came with this idea? Were they experiencing other types of OOBEs in which they had all this stuff or they are just lying to people so that it all sounds harder and people can give up?

As you guys may have noticed I barely use the word Astral and I keep saying there's no higher or lower astral. I say it is you or consciousness. Am I wrong? Are the new age writers wrong? I think both new age and "normal" terms actually describe the same one thing. Let me give you an example. When someone has a very vivid dream, it means they are in the higher astral. When the dream is not so vivid, it is in the lower one. I have been told this before. Also, failed attempts for OOBEs are in the lower astral and the very vivid ones in the higher one. This is what I know so far. Now, what if by "lower and higher astral plane" the people, who were not that "evolved" like us, described the difference in the level of awareness during dreams or OOBEs? I believe this is it. Also, OOBEs, LD's and normal dreams are as well only words to describe the level of awareness you had. The entire phenomena is actually just one thing. The only thing that is different is the level of awareness. By that, everyone would say that in an OOBE you should be very aware, although there are a few in which you are not. Are you sure they are OOBEs anymore? I have had OOBEs which slowly but surely turned into dreams or dreams that turned into OOBEs. It sometimes may be hard to describe an experience you have had because it started off as an OOBE, but and ended up like a dream. What was it then? I am posting this again with some editing.

I am sure there are people who have mistaken vivid dreams for lucid dreams. This is probably because they were so vivid and in control of them in which they THOUGHT this is what lucid dreaming is about. You have a lucid dream only when you know you are dreaming. You can be as aware as possible, it will still not be a lucid one unless you know you are dreaming. Isn't it disappointing a little? You did whatever you wanted in your dream and you still have not had an LD.

I describe OOBEs/dreams/LD's as "thinking without having a body". Theoretically, If your body was killed during the experience you would still be there without realizing it. This is exactly how it feels. Almost all of my OOBEs have been in or around my apartment and the only thing I could notice was that I was just as normal as I am now. I wasn't any soul, there was no silver cord, it was just I. From here, you can also notice that the separation is just an illusion. There is no actual separation and you do not always need it. We get the position when we get out of the body because of our perception of the physical body. We know we are lying in bed, that's where we should be. However, I have had OOBEs in which I felt I had projected from another side of the room. Also, in my very first experience, I do not remember to have felt any separation at all. I was either next to my bed or in my body. Lately, I have not even had a body in my experiences. I was just I, thinking and creating. You do not need a body in an OOBE. I sometimes feel like I am the world itself. We are just consciousness.

Experience dreams, experience LD's, experience SP and experience OOBES and see if they actually are a different phenomena. Once you are in SP, you are already in the OOBE. In fact "SP" starts before dreaming.

I just felt like just posting this. This is my opinion on dreams, oobes and LD's.

My very first experience - December 2009

Astral projection or OOBE's wasn't what I wanted to learn or practice because I'd heard a lot of stories about it and I thought it was dangerous and I said I would only try lucid dreaming thinking that it is just a dream and you can always wake up.
I'd never had a lucid dream until one night when I said that I was going to read and practice more until I got one. I was so sure about this that I had my very first lucid dream in that night.  ;D

I don't think that I needed to realise that I was dreaming because as soon as I fell asleep I became lucid. I couldn't see anything but a screen of an i-phone and I knew I had to choose the place I liked to be in. I chose a weird place that I had never seen before and then I saw a white door. I opened the door thinking where it would bring me to. I got in a weird room and there were a lot of skeletons on the floor, so I freaked out and then teleported somewhere else.
I remember having gone in many other places when I woke up next to my bed. I wasn't sure what had actually happened, I thought it still was a lucid dream.

I was next to my bed, saw almost everything in my room, even the TV turned on, but I couldn't look into my bed's direction. I didn't even want to do that.
After a while, I started to feel my breath. I was scared because I was breathing too slowly and I thought I was going to die if I didn't start breathing faster. I wanted to wake up but each time I tried I got back in my body but only for a second (in SP) and then again next to my bed. I had tried to wake up about 7 times before I finally woke up. I was scared but also amazed of what had happened to me. However, I could consider myself "lucky" because I had experienced sleep paralysis before and I knew how to get out of them.
After the experience I didn't even bother to try LD again, I got all interested in oobes.
